Happy Mother’s and Special Friends’ Day

On Friday we celebrate our Mother and Special Friends Mass in honour of Mother’s Day. It is on this day we will in particular celebrate the Mother of the Church - Mary, our Lord’s Mother whose special month is the Month of May.

Prayer for Mothers and Carers

Dear Lord,

On this special day, we show our gratitude for all Mothers and Carers,

We thank them for their all-encompassing love, for their commitment, care and kindness.

We thank them for their wisdom, for helping us grow and flourish.

We thank them for their strength, for their sacrifices, and for being there in times of need.

And we thank them for their encouragement, for being our cheerleaders and celebrating our achievements.

Lord, help Mothers and Special Friends know how much they are loved and appreciated.

We ask that you bless all Mothers, including those who are no longer with us today.

Amen.

The power of praying for your children

Sometimes we need reminders of the power of prayer. This article from Melbourne Catholic tells us of an enormous gathering in Brazil for the National Mothers who Pray for their Children Conference. It is a powerful reminder of the importance of praying for those we love and care for. READ THE ARTICLE HERE

Eucharist - Making 1st Eucharist and 1st Reconciliation

Thank you to the year 4 families that have already begun returning the forms for first Eucharist to School. If your child is in year 4 and has missed out on receiving their first Reconciliation Sacrament please contact jes.earle@smstkildaeast.catholic.edu.au and Ms Earle will liaise with you.

Project Compassion Boxes

Please continue to return your project compassion boxes - we have raised so far $287! That’s a fantastic effort! Thank you everybody! (If a chicken can be given to a Zimbabwe farm for $7 then how many chickens have we given the farm so far?) The cut off is really soon as the parish wishes to send the money all in one go to Caritas. Please get them to us this week! If you are waiting for a Tax Deductible Receipt - these are on the way and will be sent home soon!
