Respectful Relationships

During Respectful Relationships, 1/2 Todeschini/Arthur have been investigating ‘who we can ask for help’ and ‘who we can help’. This week they named five people that they could ask for help and five people that they could help. In the photos, the Grade One students are holding up the name of a person they could help. The Grade Two students are holding up a name of someone they could ask for help. We have had fabulous conversations about who we ask for help when a problem happens at school and who we ask for help when we are at home.

Why do you like using Gugu stickers at SGPS?

Tilly - They help me to make better choices.

Tyler - I like getting the Gugu stickers so that I spend them on things like printing out pictures.

Russell - I like being able to get rewards with my stickers because they are fun.

What do you like to spend your Gugu stickers on?

Tilly - I have spent 10 stickers on our class prize box. Now I am saving up my stickers to go to the CAFÉ with some of my friends.

Tyler - I have printed out lots of pictures so far. I am saving up to be able to print out more pictures.

Russell - I like to spend my stickers on the class prize box and free time.

What level of our Whole School Reward are you hoping to reach this term?

Tilly - I am hoping we reach Level 4 so that we can do the school disco!

Tyler - I want to be able to do the Chocolate Treasure Hunt!

Lunch Time Gardening Club

This year, we have reinvigorated the vegie garden and have introduced our Wednesday lunch time Garden Club. We have had students of all ages within the school enjoying getting their hands dirty each week.

Last week was our first harvest of the year, with bok choi, rocket, spinach, lettuce and herbs being picked in abundance. So much so, that we had our first SGPS vegie market stall on Friday morning. As the season progresses, and the more we can pick, the Friday market will continue - hopefully, this will be every fortnight.

This week, Bunnings Kangaroo Flat, joined us for some gardening and generously donated lots of plants, mulch and garden equipment for the kids to use. We all had a great time with Shell from Bunnings and learnt lots of things as well.
