Working Bee

Alicia Flynn

Working Bee Thanks!

Yesterday, a bunch of wonderful parents, carers and kids helped with a bunch of projects:

  • Finished securing the chicken run and set up the chicken coop.
  • Starting revamping and reinforcing the gaga pit as well as making new benches around the pit. This is ongoing and will be completed in the coming week or so.
  • Massive weeding effort of the Bushfood Garden. We will be reinvigorating this with new plantings and irrigation later this term).
  • Weeding the Sprout garden.

A very big thank you to Phil and Bec (Ruby, Ella), Seamus & Liv (Ramona), Dallas and Zoe (Hazel & Finch), Daniel (Oskar), Sarah (Georgia, Lev), Duncan (Rosie), Bryony (Ruben, Pia), Ann (Elliot), Jack, and Levi and Hugh for the chicken coop! Sorry if I forgot anybody!

NB: We’re a public school with limited funds for garden maintenance and we are lucky enough to have a massive school yard (much bigger than most schools), so this means there is a lot of work to do each term to maintain it as a productive learning and play space.

Please consider coming to the next working bee - even if you can only stay for an hour. Many hands…
