Classroom Happenings

As part of our learning about the topic of “First Fleet and First Contact”, year 3 and 4 students wrote historical diary entries from the perspective of a convict, a guard or an Aboriginal Australian.  This week, students gave oral presentations to their class in the role of their chosen character.  We were impressed with the care and effort shown by many of the students as well as the courage shown in getting up to speak in front of the class. This can be very nerve wracking for many students and is an important skill to develop.  Great work!

Mr S visited 1/2CH on Tuesday with his guitar!

We sang our hearts out and so did Mr S!

We were so lucky to have Mr S (Jasmeen’s Grandpa) visit 1/2CH on Tuesday. Mr S brought his guitar, his recorder and his own homemade special recorder. He played them all with amazing skill!

Mr S taught us a very funny song about ‘Beetles in the Bathroom’. We sang it softly, loudly and we even had to yell the funny line, “HOW EMBARRASSING!”

He told us interesting stories and taught us some very funny actions to other songs. We can’t wait til Mr S visits next Tuesday. What will we learn then?
