Principal's Report

Dear Members of the St. Cecilia’s School Community,

Last Sunday we celebrated Mother's Day. Two days before that, we recognised our Mum's, Grandmother's  and Special People at school with our Annual Mother's Day Breakfast.  I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude and admiration for all the incredible mothers and grandmothers within our school community. Your tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to your children's education are truly commendable.

As mothers and grandmothers, you play a profound role in shaping the lives of our young people. You are a constant source of love, support, and guidance, and your influence extends far beyond the walls of your homes. Your dedication and hard work are an inspiration to us all.

Moreover, your contributions to our school community cannot be overstated. Your involvement in our school activities and events, your volunteer work, and your valuable feedback are essential to the success of our educational mission. You are an integral part of our school family, and we are incredibly grateful for your presence.

On behalf of the entire school, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks for all that you do. You are a shining example of selflessness and love, and your impact on our young people is immeasurable. Your love, care, and dedication make a world of difference to our children's lives, and we are honored to have you as such a significant part of our school family.

Senior Camp

Our Senior students have just returned from an excellent camp at Camp Wyuna in  Queenslcliff. The 3 days was filled with many highlights, memorable moments and an unforgettable Talent Quest! Our students were simply awesome. Thanks to our staff who tirelessly gave of themselves yet again to ensure that this experience was well organised and executed to perfection. What a wonderful team consisting of Fiona Walsh, Louise Jury, Trish Revere, Lucy Csaplar, Caterina Cerrina and Matt Mooney!

We look forward to some reports and reviews from the Senior students over the coming days. Meanwhile, here are a few happy snaps!

New Technology

As we continue to navigate the ever-changing landscape of education, we are excited to share with you some significant developments in technology, particularly regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI). As a school, we are committed to providing the best possible education for our students and staying at the forefront of these technological advancements.

AI has the potential to revolutionise the way we teach and learn. With the ability to analyse data, personalise learning, and provide instant feedback, AI has the power to transform the educational experience for our students. We believe that by embracing this technology, we can enhance our teaching and learning practices, allowing us to better meet the individual needs of our students and help them reach their full potential.

At St. Cecilia's School, we are committed to providing strong leadership in the implementation of AI in our classrooms. We believe that it is essential to introduce this technology in a responsible and ethical manner that prioritises the well-being and safety of our students. As such, we will be working closely with our teaching staff and technology experts to ensure that AI is integrated into our curriculum in a meaningful and effective way.

We understand that some parents may have questions or concerns about the use of AI in education. Rest assured that we are committed to keeping you informed and involved in this process. We will be hosting parent information sessions, providing regular updates on our website and social media channels, and encouraging open communication with our school community.

As always, our primary focus is on providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for our students. We believe that by embracing AI, we can enhance our teaching practices, personalise learning, and better meet the individual needs of our students.

Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this exciting new chapter in education.

Social Media @ St Cecilia's

Another way of keeping up with what is happening at St Cecilia's is by following us on Instagram (@stceciliasgleniris). We often post photos of what learning has been happening in our classrooms, photos of events such as camp and reminders of what is coming up in our school and community. Thank you to two of our staff members (Fiona Walsh and Bella Lasscock) who have taken over coordinating our social pages. They are doing an outstanding job! Check it out!

Enjoy the rest of the week everyone,
