ALL WELCOME – WORSHIP SERVICES AT ST PAUL

Everyone is welcome to join us on Sunday morning for worship. Worship times are 8.30am for a Traditional Service and 10.00am for a more Contemporary service with Godly Play on offer for Primary School aged children. Tea and Coffee and a time of gathering is held most weeks after both worship services. For the first Sunday of the month, there is one combined service, with a blended style of worship.  This means that this Sunday, 4th June, there will be one service at 9.30am. During this service, as a Church congregation, we will be gifting Bibles to this year’s Reception students of the school.  Also, seven of our young people will be admitting some of our young people to the Lord’s Supper as the culmination of their Step up to Communion course.

PENTECOST DISPLAY

You may have noticed a new display on the outer balcony of the Church building in time for Pentecost last week, which is a festival in the church year that celebrates how the Holy Spirit comes to help us to believe in God, to know him and to live as God’s children.  The Holy Spirit is commonly represented in pictures as a dove (during the Baptism of Jesus, the Spirit descended like a dove) or as fire, for the flames that rested on the heads of Jesus’ disciples.

PLAYGROUP @ ST PAUL

Playgroup @St Paul is on each Tuesday during Term time in the Hall.  We welcome people anytime from 8.30 onwards to help set up. Join us for a coffee, playtime, story time and songs from 9-10.30 each week during school terms. Cost is $2 per family.  We offer a simple craft, a sensory activity and read a book related to a different theme each week.

This week we looked at fish, played with the ocean animals and kinetic sand in the sensory play space and read the book ‘Ten Scared Fish’ by Ros Moriarty. We sang some of our favourite fish songs including ‘Slippery Fish’ and ‘The Barramundi Song ‘ (also known as one of the catchiest songs ever!).

Next week we will be looking at spiders with the book ‘The Very Busy Spider’ by Eric Carle.

For more information about anything playgroup related contact Kylie Koelman in the Church Office on 8262 4690 or email at office@stpaul-church.org.au

GROWING FAITH AT HOME

This resource is developed by the Lutheran Church of Australia and is intended to be a guide in sharing faith activities with members of your family.

Here are a few ways you could introduce faith discussions in your home and day-to-day life.

Prayer:

God of creation, what you have done is amazing! How great is your name in all the earth! Amen.

Blessing:

(Child’s name) May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father,

and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you. Amen.

Bible Verse of the Week:

‘Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptise

them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)

PASTY BAKES

Pasties are back for Winter 2023!  If you didn’t get your order in for pasties last week, the next bake is on Thursday 8th June.  Pasties are $15 for a half dozen.  Put your order through to Renate on 0405 433 030 or contact the Church Office on 8262 4690 to arrange payments and pick up.  Funds raised go towards the work of St Paul Lutheran Church.

LUTHERAN CARE

Did you know that Lutheran Care maintain a food pantry to help families in need?  This program is called Loaves and Fishes and they require new food donations each month.  For the month of June they are looking for donations of Pasta, Pasta Sauce, Coffee, Cereal, Rice, Soap and Dishwashing Liquid. Donations are collected through the school front office or can be donated directly to Lutheran Care, 309 Prospect Road.
