Bully Zero Workshops

Recently we had Leila from Bully Zero visit St Cecilia’s to run workshops for all our students. Annabella B in Year 2I shares her experience of the session.

At Bully Zero the whole school listened to a lady named Leila talk about bullying. Leila told us that  bullying is being mean over and over and over again to someone. She also said there are 4 types of bullying:

  1. Verbal: Name calling and put downs, threats, teasing and yelling.
  2. Physical: Punching, tripping, kicking or stealing and destroying someone else's property.
  3. Cyber Bullying: Hurting someone using technology, via email, chat groups, text messages and online games.
  4.  Social: Leaving people out, gossiping, or talking about someone behind their back. This can include lying, spreading rumours, mimicking, making fun of or playing nasty jokes to embarrass and humiliate.

If someone is being bullied or you are being bullied, you can stand up for someone or you can stand up for yourself. Just stand tall like a meerkat and tell the bully to STOP! You can always ask a friend to help you or find a teacher or tell mum and dad.

This is how to treat a bully.

  1. STOP! I DON”T LIKE IT.
  2. STOP! I DON”T LIKE IT AND IF YOU DO IT AGAIN I WILL TELL A TEACHER.
  3. STOP! I AM TELLING THE TEACHER.

We learnt a lot of helpful actions and words from Leila. It was fun and interesting.
