Principal’s Message

Mrs Kath Baird

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been another productive week here at Sacred Heart School. Firstly a big thank you to all of the families who attended our Parent Information night and PTF AGM,  your time is greatly appreciated.

A special thank you to Heike Watson as she steps down from the role of Vice President,  for her contribution to the Sacred Heart PTF, the school and  community.

Our school experienced great success this week in the sporting arena as students participated in the Diocesan Swimming carnival and the Polding Tennis trials. Congratulations to all students involved. We were also sent a lovely email from St Joseph's Tenterfield describing how beautifully mannered our representatives from SHS were at the swimming carnival and that their sportsmanship and good humour was enjoyed by the adjoining schools. Congratulations for representing yourselves with pride!

This week we will be participating in our Ash Wednesday mass. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, the season of penance, reflection and fasting which prepares us for the resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday. Students will be attending Mass on Wednesday at 11:30pm. Also we will be enjoying pancakes as part of Shrove Tuesday at school on Tuesday.

Our 2023 Transition to School program will be commencing at the beginning of Term 2. This term we will host three events for parents and new students to attend. We will be begin with an Open Morning on Wednesday 23 March where parents and children will be able to see how Kindergarten at Sacred Heart School works. If you know of anyone intending to enrol for 2023 please encourage them to contact me at the school.

As the term continues please remember that if you have any concerns, queries or questions don't hesitate to make contact with us and we can help you out. Our mission is to ensure that we can support students to feel safe, valued, cared for and respected so they can continue to be happy and engaged learners.

Take care
