It was announced earlier this year that Uni High’s Musical Production would be Shrek; which had us all enthralled and intrigued by this choice - especially because of how iconic the movies were and all the memes that came with it. 

Rehearsals slowly commenced late Term 1 and since then cast, crew and band have all been working incredibly hard to work up towards the show dates. As part of the cast, we’ve all been practising the songs, working on our lines and learning the dances and it’s all slowly coming together.  Everyone’s energy and enthusiasm are so contagious, and I’m proud of everyone’s efforts. It’s been so fun to watch everyone’s characters come to life and to see the passion in people is also very inspiring.

Other than having after school rehearsals, the whole team has been taking time out of their weekends to come to school and work on the show which just goes to show how dedicated everyone is and we’re all working so hard to put out an amazing show. Shoutout to the teachers as well because they have to deal and work with a bunch of tired teenagers every Sunday morning rather than sleeping in - someone give them a raise.

I’ve been given the honour to play Donkey - who is such a hard but fun character to play, and I can’t wait for everyone to meet him :) Be sure to look out and grab a ticket when they come out and watch all of our hard work throughout these past few months pay off!

Now… there have been a few slight changes to the musical. Unfortunately, we are unable to perform in our very own Sharman Hall. However, we have been blessed with the wonderful opportunity to perform at The Clocktower Centre in Moonee Ponds for the second time (#RIPPippin2021)! Not only that, but the production dates have also been pushed forward which means you’ll be able to watch and meet all the quirky and lively characters sooner than expected! Hope to see you all there.
