Everyone Belongs

At COHR Harmony Day has not just been a day, but a Harmony Week! Students have been visiting 'The Loft' for a Harmony Day Circle Time, contributing to the display along the driveway, as well as the display in the foyer and so much more. 

Our prayer on Wednesday morning was led beautifully by out Faith and Social Justice Leaders and our Wellbeing Leaders.  Our student leaders welcomed our wonderful parents who were enjoying a coffee, shared the COHR Acknowledgement of Country and reminded us all that Harmony Day, celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. That it is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Harmony Day is a time for all Australians to remember and respect our diverse cultural backgrounds and to share what we have in common. It is about finding out what brings us together and how we can help and encourage and celebrate with each other.

Our student leaders then led us in prayer, which I would like to share with you and invite you to pray with all at COHR for true harmony everywhere.

Let us pray:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Loving God, you created humanity in your image and likeness. 

We pray that we may open our eyes to see your face in our brothers and sisters 

of different cultures, races and religions. 

May we focus on what binds us as a people rather than what separates us.

We pray to the Lord.

All: Lord hear our prayer

Loving God, just as you chose your apostles from all walks of life, 

we pray that we may follow your example 

and embrace the unique qualities that each of us possess, 

so that we may bring about harmony on this earth.

Our School Prayer is one that we pray together often.

By praying together we are praying for each other and for our whole community.

By praying together we are ensuring that ‘Everyone Belongs’

Jesus you are the Bread of Life, 

my Shepherd and Friend. 

Jesus, be part of my dreams for the future: be a part of my life-story; 

be a part of the story of our school, 

here at Christ Our Holy Redeemer. 

In our friendship - Jesus, be with us. 

In our failures - Jesus, be with us. 

In our successes - Jesus, be with us. 

At all moments - walk beside us. 

Teach us your ways, Lord. 

Teach us to be faithful. 

Teach us to treasure our friendship with you.
