Preschool

A mud kitchen is an outdoor play station that allows children to engage in pretend and messy play by cooking with mud, sand, and water. Mud Kitchens are more than just the chance to explore mud, get messy and have fun. They also provide a whole variety of different learning opportunities including sensory, imaginative, creative, and exploratory play. Mud kitchens help children to develop fine motor skills, roleplay, exploration, hand-eye coordination, language, mathematical skills, real-world connections, independence, and social skills. Children engage with nature while they measure, fill and empty containers, weigh, pour, mix, and use kitchen utensils. They proudly share their culinary masterpieces with each other and the educators. Soups, stews, muffins, cupcakes, coffee, and juices are among the most popular dishes created.
