Mural wall volunteers

The library is looking for student volunteers to build a Post It note wall mural in the library foyer.  We hope to create a large and very colourful butterfly made entirely from Post It notes. This mural ties in with the 2022 book week branding and theme of ‘Dreaming with your eyes open’ which will be celebrated later in the year.

We will need many hands during free periods and lunchtimes.  Curious and interested students are invited to email the library on library@mgsc.vic.edu.au with your details.

International Women’s Day book display

International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate the women who have made a significant contribution to our society.  It is also a fitting time to remember and reflect upon the women of significance in our own family and friendship circles who have shaped our lives for the better.

Our current female-focussed book display, showcases a variety of Australian and International biographies available for loan that are filled with the most amazing stories of courage, humanity, intelligence, sportsmanship and talent.

Book Club

We all must abide by the rules, but some of us must follow more than others”  Stacey Lee, The Downstairs Girl

“Standing in another's shoes is good for our own postures.”

Our new Book Club book for term 1 is the Downstairs Girl, written by Stacey Lee.  Book clubs are a great way to engage with students who share a love of literature as they will get the opportunity to read diverse books, share their ideas and gain new perspectives.  The library will provide book club titles to students and it is anticipated we will meet once a term during lunchtime.  There is an ‘expression of interest’ form on the library home page for students to register or they are welcome to email library@mgsc.vic.edu.au with their details.
