Principal's Report

Official Opening forthcoming

Official Opening

I am awaiting final details of the forthcoming official school opening.

Our school council, students and staff are working behind the scenes to bring together an event.  We are anxiously awaiting the agreed date and time with the Minister's office, which will be communicated once confirmed.

We are hoping you will all get behind this significant event for our community.

Reports parent information sessions

We are currently refining our reporting process for 2022.  This is a consideration I have been looking at for approximately two years.  I'm hoping to better represent all three key stakeholders:

Student achievement

Staff work; and

Parent insight / knowledge

The reports will be more informative and comprehensive than before.  You will still see a combination of pictorial / graphical representation and text, just more reflective of what is undertaken on a daily basis.

The reports will come with an easy-to-follow guide and list of instructions.

More than ever, your student led conferences will be a key in unpacking what it really means for your child/ren and you.

In addition, I am offering three parent information sessions, to assist you in reading and understanding what it will mean (pre-look).  This is an additional offering and not mandatory, but recommended to maximise the reports' offerings.

Information session times are:

Tuesday 15 March - 7:00pm via WebEx; or

Wednesday 16 March - 2:45pm prior to pick up in Kim barne Nitji

Thursday 17 March - 5:30pm on-site in Kim barne Nitji

Hope to see you there.

Gates & drop off / pick up

You may have noticed we have had further signage provided by Rhiannon from The Sign Shop Co.  Our way-finding signage is not only extremely helpful for navigating your way around our large site, but it also looks fantastic.

Importantly, we now have signs "Gate A - Gate F" around all our school entry and exit points.

Please take note of the gates that are now labelled, and you can utilise them as a handy tool for identifying drop off and pick up cues for your child/ren.  Hope this helps you all, and cuts down any confusion.

Our Clarke Street is now functional too.  It's extremely quiet, compared to all entry points off Dundas Street, so please consider its use.  The gates open at 8:45am and close by 3:35pm from Clarke Street.

A lot to look forward to...

Please stay abreast of forthcoming events and activities.  There's a lot forthcoming and promises to be a very busy second half to term one.

The dates to remember page (2nd page in the newsletter) is a key to your ongoing support of your child's activities.  Please don't hesitate to contact the office, should you have any inquiries regarding any forthcoming activities.
