From the Classroom - S1 (Kyra/Emily)

Have you seen signs posted around in our garden beds? If so, you've probably wondered what they're for...well S1 will fill you in!

As part of the School Pride Project, classrooms have been asked to choose a garden bed or area of maintenance around our school grounds to essentially take care of throughout the year. This initiative is designed to promote school pride amongst our staff, students and community members.

In class this week we have spoken about what this means to us, how it will look and how we will demonstrate pride. Together we found a place to stake our sign (at the front of the old administration office) and instantly the children were keen to get their hands dirty, some even offering to tidy during their lunchtime.

We are so proud of our school and we want everyone to feel this way when you walk through the school gates, see the beautiful new facilities and grounds and treat it with respect it deserves.

Below are the responses from S1 when prompted about what school pride means to them:

What does school pride mean to S1?

It means to represent our classroom and our school to the highest standard. To respect property and be responsible for something.

How does it look?

Respectful, responsible, tidy, clean, thoughtful, mindful, weeding, disposing of rubbish, watering.

How will we demonstrate it?

Cleaning our area, tidying, respecting new and old areas of the school, working together as a team to reach an outcome.
