STELA

Here in the brand new STELA building, things have been busy and amazing. The Foundies are learning about what living things need as they explore their roles as BIOLOGISTS.

They planted seeds and learnt about POLLINATION and GERMINATION.

Meanwhile, the grade 6 students are exploring their chosen areas of science and are busy preparing reports on everyone from PSYCHOLOGISTS to VOLCANOLOGISTS.

When they’re not interviewing, filming and making podcasts, they’re experimenting with surface tension and planting seeds in their garden beds.

Some of them have even tried to blend into the new library.

We have also been playing with our awesome new digital microscope - yes, ant larvae!

The grade 5 cohort have made it their mission to interview experts in their quest to understand more about Australian animals from QUOKKAS to KOALAS.

All the while, the library fills up and small hands tie upcycled decorations to the railing outside to make the space feel familiar and, on a quiet day, the bottle tops create small sounds as they catch the breeze.

So …. watch this space!
