PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Semester 2

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7). It is these words yet again that inspired me over the mid-year break as I reflected upon the events of Semester 1 and began to plan for what is now a very different and confronting second semester of 2021. I have been very pleased with the progress made by so many of our students under such difficult circumstances. Semester 2 is a frantic one and will be done and dusted very quickly. We are planning a raft of celebrations for Year 12 and hope that these can be realised in Term 3, but are also planning a range of alternate activities in the event of COVID interruptions. I would like to wish everyone all the best for an engaging and successful Semester 2 and for the final term of secondary schooling for our Year 12’s.

STEM Academy Graduates

The following members of staff from The Riverina Anglican College have completed their STEM Academy 2019-2020-2021 Secondary Program. Mrs Andrea Barkla, Mrs Anne Forbes, Mr Isaac Mannion, Mr Paul Hayward and Mrs Vivien Daniher. This has been a herculean undertaking during a most challenging 18 months, however despite the stress, uncertainty and adjustments, The Riverina Anglican College team excelled and did an amazing job. The STEM Academy is a program out of the University of Sydney that is designed to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics, our professional learning programs support school teams in their pursuit of excellence. With five of our staff now graduating from this rigorous program, it further strengthens the quality of teaching in the field of STEM and iSTEM. Well done to all staff members for completing this course and I look forward to the benefits this brings to our K-12 community.
