Remote Learning

Year 11 Art

In Year 11 Art, students have been exploring contemporary methods of art making and have been encouraged to challenge ideas about traditional art. It was the students who were challenged when we once again entered another lockdown mid-project! Despite the challenges of remote learning, students embraced the situation and didn’t let it stop them from producing artwork using whatever they could find around the house. Students are to be commended for their often creative problem solving and their encouragement of each other under difficult circumstances.

“I found our practical subject of art and mixed media at first challenging, but as we began to go through the 2 weeks I found it gradually more fun. This was because I was able to challenge myself with the limited materials I had, and get even more creative. I was able to attempt tea-staining and burning paper which if I was at school, I probably wouldn’t have done and it was quite a success. It was fun and challenging to be able to do something different and figure out ways to use what we had to create beautiful pieces.” -Eliza Humphrey
