Year 8

Mentone Campus

Recently the Year 8s were given an opportunity to participate in an educational program which helped to positively identify their individual character strengths.

The educational program entitled, ‘Play to Your Strengths’ has been developed by the

St Kilda Football Club and is run by Saints AFL and VFLW players.  It introduced students to their character strengths in an engaging manner through fun, interactive and inclusive exercises.

Students learnt about 24 universal strengths: curiosity, gratitude, perseverance, kindness, judgement, forgiveness, honesty, team work, hope, self-regulation, love, leadership, perspective, zest, creativity, fairness, bravery, social intelligence, prudence, humour, spirituality, love of learning, appreciation of beauty and excellence and humility.  Each student discovered his own strengths and gained an insight into the strengths of others.

Ultimately, this program enabled students to have a greater sense of their wellbeing.
