The Term to Date

This is the first Newsletter for third term.

At first, this seems unusual given that we are in Week 6, however, you will be well aware that there has been a significant amount of communication out to families given the current lockdown and the various restrictions that are in place.

The key message from the College is to reinforce that our Community remains robust, supportive and forward thinking. Whilst it is necessary to be practical in terms of our response to the pandemic, it is also important to realise that we will see the other side of this challenge. We are all part of a school that began just after the great depression, that witnessed two world wars, lived through the idea’s revolution of the 60’s and 70’s and has seen remarkable shifts in social thinking in so many areas over recent years. The College will be here well after the current pandemic becomes manageable.

Amongst all these happenings has been the fundamental belief of families in a Catholic education in a Lasallian tradition. We believe that there is inherent goodness in ourselves and one another because we are made in the image and likeness of God. At the moment, such images can become blurred because our families are being tested and asked to endure unwanted situations. Despite these pressures on families, the College is receiving phenomenal support for which we are grateful. We are endeavouring to give your child the best experience possible in a virtual environment; we are enormously pleased to be able to educate your son whether it be onsite or online.

Our Community has a pride in the College that comes from our vast heritage and our collective present.

Please remember to stay in contact with us with any query or concern and we will work with you to resolve such matters.

Life in Lockdown

The College student leaders have sent a letter out to you asking for a photo(s) of a positive lockdown experience for your son or family. We are looking for submissions from all year levels and both campuses. Every family experience is different so we look forward to receiving a plethora of photos that will be sorted for a video collage (which will be sent out to you) and for our archives. We await your contribution.

Parent/Student/Teacher Inteviews

We pass on our best to our students and families as we begin these interviews this week. Given that most of us are in our homes in lockdown, the opportunity for all parents and carers to be a part of these interviews is amplified, a fact that would not be lost on your child.

I wish you and the family every blessing.
