SCIENCE

Year 10 Agriculture & Horticulture

The Yr 10 Agriculture class learnt about calf rearing during term 3.

Students gained knowledge about nutrition, pen maintenance and calf diseases and successfully raised two calves onsite for 3 weeks.

The calves were returned to their farm in a healthy condition and at least 5 kgs heavier.

While tending to the calves students also planted vegetables and watched their growth.

In term 4 students will harvest their crop and take the vegetables home to have for dinner.

Year 7 Science - Forces in Action!

Our inquisitive Year 7 students are busy learning about Forces in Term 4. This is a Physical Science Unit which explores concepts related to Gravity, Friction and Magnetic Forces. Students investigate common situations where forces are balanced, such as stationary objects, and unbalanced, such as falling objects. This unit incorporates really engaging group activities such as Tug of War, Marble Runs, Egg Dropping, Measuring Forces, Parachute Launching and many more. Students will be able to describe any change in the motion of an object due to a force. From the images captured so far, they are certainly enjoying the return to onsite and hands-on learning with their friends and teachers, away from their devices.
