In Term 3, the Towerworks Program in career education has seen Year 8.2 & 8.4 commence their semester working through the World of Work, Career Categories,Self ExploTest, Vocational Family Trees, Study Skills, Work Experience preparation &Career Exploration. With Lockdown the Year 9 sessions will now run throughout Term4, while Year 10 have completed their Morrisby Profile & had their follow-up individual counselling session. Year 11 & Year 12 continue with sessions each cycle with a focus on the VTAC Process, Interstate Applications, The Transition & Preparation for the World of Work. All Year 12 Students have completed their VTAC Application for 2022.

Guaranteed ATARs for 2022

The university has taken into consideration the challenges and disruptions to Year 12 students over the last two years, and all applicants who meet the course prerequisites and guaranteed ATAR for their preferred course will achieve a place at the University when they receive their ATAR on 13 December 2021.  The new guaranteed ATARs aim to provide students with comfort and assurance, allowing them to prepare for life and study at the University of Melbourne in 2022.

To be eligible for guaranteed entry, applicants must also meet the following requirements: 

  • All course prerequisites and achieve the ATAR (or notional ATAR) outlined in the table below
  • Apply to their preferred undergraduate course at the University via VTAC 

 

 

What is Engineering?

The Engineering Australia website states that Engineering is an occupation with extremely wide reach.  The term 'engineering' covers many fields and, by extension, many skills.  Engineers are scientists, inventors, designers, builders, and great thinkers.  They improve the state of the world, amplify human capability, and make people's lives safer and easier.

Career as a Financial Planner

The Good Universities Guide states that financial planners develop and implement financial plans for individuals covering all areas of finance, including taxation, retirement, superannuation, insurance and estate planning. Financial planning is a discipline on its own – one does not have to be an accountant to be a financial planner. There are number courses offered at universities in business, commerce, finance, economics and it is important to also note that should students wish to become a financial planner, the course they choose must be accredited by ASIC (Australian Securities and Investment Commission) or they may not be eligible to provide financial advice.  

 

VTAC Year 12 Guides 2022

The VTAC Year 12 Guide online link and the downloadable VTAC Guide - Researching Tertiary Education publication are designed to provide students with useful information regarding course research and the application processes for entry to tertiary study in Victoria in 2022.  Year 12 students are encouraged to browse both links and begin to familiarise themselves with what lies ahead over the next months.

 

CASPer Entry Requirements for Teacher Qualifications

CASPer is an online test designed to assess an applicant’s personal and professional attributes.  CASPer is a requirement of applying to many initial teaching training courses in Victoria CASPer 

 

Most universities offering undergraduate teaching courses will be requiring students sit the CASPer online test as part of the selection into teaching degrees in 2022.  Students are encouraged to browse VTACand learn which courses will require the  CASPer 

for selection. Students might also like to browse CASPer – how it works and have a look at some sample scenarios too.
