NAPLAN

Annually, in May, all schools in Australia complete the Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 NAPLAN (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) assessments. These assessments are a series of standardised tests that assess students' reading, writing, language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy.

This week Year 3 and 5 families and students who participated in this year's assessments, received their individual results.

School and cohort results are valuable data sets to measure our performance against our Strategic Plan targets.  It is with great pride I share that, despite our COVID-enforced interrupted education over the last 18 months, our school has exceeded our expectations in many areas.  Most notably in our Year 5 results, which improved in all assessments when compared to 2019 (NAPLAN was not administered in 2020 due to COVID-19).

I would like to congratulate our school community on our collective efforts.   Like never before our families and staff partnered to ensure our students’ academic progress was maintained.  The biggest of all congratulations needs to go to our students, who should each be so incredibly proud of themselves for their performances.

Well done Croydon Hills Primary School!

R U OK? Day - it's today, but each day is important

R U OK? Day is our national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that every day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?” and support those struggling with life's ups and downs.

R U OK? inspires and empowers everyone to meaningfully connect with the  people around them and start a conversation with those in their world who may be struggling with life.

You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener.

Use these four steps and have a conversation that could change a life:

1. Ask R U OK?

2. Listen

3. Encourage action

4. Check in
