Cadet day – full day

Last Friday, we had a fantastic full cadet day. It was great to see the cadets out enjoying activities such as archery, obstacle course, team building, survival swimming and starting the preparation for the Ceremonial Parade. A big thank you to LT Dent for leading the NAVEX up at Mt Dundas. The cadets were in high spirits and reports coming in stated that it was heaps of fun. Whilst the cadets were out on the NAVEX course, some students were able to participate in an introduction to Field and Game shooting. Thank you to Scott and his team from the Coleraine Field and Game for taking the time to facilitate this activity.

A reminder that Friday 3rd September is our next full cadet day. As this is still considered a school day, although there will be no classes, all cadets are expected to attend this day. Correct uniform is to be worn, including the bush hat.

1/21 Courses camp – equipment returns

There are still a few cadets that attended Courses camp who need to return the equipment that was borrowed for this camp. Could you please prepare to return this equipment on the first day back from Lockdown 7.0.

Uniform

Please be reminded that Day 10, all cadets must wear their correct cadet uniform including their bush hat. If they have PE on day 10 they will need to get changed for this class. It has also become apparent that many bush hats have been lost or left at home. The bush hat is a compulsory part of the cadet uniform and must be worn each cadet day. We would appreciate if you could please assist your child/ren in ensuring that they have the correct uniform.

If your child requires a uniform exchange due to not fitting or ripped, they must email Mr. Rayner arayner@monivae.vic.edu.au prior to Day 10 to arrange for a swap.

Ceremonial Parade preparation

With ceremonial parade coming up in October, we ask that all cadets make a huge effort to try their best during drill sessions and at practice. This includes being correctly dressed. Boots done up, trousers bloused at the bottom, uniform ironed, and hair tied back. I am sure that all cadets will work hard leading up to this event and take pride in wearing the Australian Army Cadet uniform and ensuring the parade is great success for all their families to watch.

Please do not hesitate to contact the OC of the unit MAJ Phil O’Keefe, should you have any queries. pokeefe@monivae.edu.au
