La Settimana Italiana

During Week 9, our College celebrated its first Italian Week, from 9th to 13th September. Students, teachers and parents honoured the Italian language and culture with a vast range of activities, both inside and outside of the classroom.

The F-4 community participated in a very active and cheerful session of “baby dance”, led by our language assistant Beatrice, and watched the movie “Alla ricerca di Nemo” while having some popcorn in the auditorium. Thanks to the Visual Arts Team, our younger students created a range of masterpieces inspired by Leonardo da Vinci which were presented in the Library.

The 5-8 community took part in a pizza making session where students learnt the history, characteristics and some fun facts about the most famous Italian dish. They also tried to stretch some dough out in order to get a perfect base while some brave students attempted some acrobatic moves.

The 9-12 community engaged in a fun and very unusual soccer game that saw some of the best but also the most extravagant passes, while the VCAL students prepared some mini pizzas and individual tiramisù.

Finally, the whole College enjoyed an Italian dress up day which will not be easily forgotten.

A big GRAZIE to all those who participated, helped and supported our Settimana Italiana!
