Successful Aspire Program applicants: Georgia Aitken, Chantel Zonneveld, Mackinley Glover, Chloe Newnham and Katrina Fitzgerald

La Trobe University Aspire Program

Congratulations to Georgia Aitken, Katrina Fitzgerald, Mackinley Glover, Chloe Newnham and Chantel Zonneveld (pictured in our banner photo), who have been successful applicants of the La Trobe University Aspire Program. These students have received an early conditional offer for tertiary study in 2020. The Aspire Program acknowledges the positive impact the students have on their community through volunteering, leadership and community engagement.

Congratulations Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn George (Year 12, 2018) has been awarded an Italian Scholarship.

The Colin McCormick Memorial Scholarship is supported by the Italian Australian Institute. The scholarship is available to secondary school students who study Italian at Year 12 level and who intend continuing their studies in Italian in any of the tertiary institutes in the State of Victoria.

This new Scholarship is sponsored by the Pitruzzello Family and was awarded to Kaitlyn who is currently continuing her Italian studies at Monash University.

Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program 2020 – The University of Melbourne

You can apply for the KLD Young Scholars Program in Year 10.

 

To be eligible for this program students must be:

  • In Year 10
  • Enrolled at high school in Victoria or border region (SA and NSW).
  • Endorsed by the school.

 

Students will be selected based on:

  • Their school endorsement
  • Academic performance: students should be in the top 5 per cent of students in their year level.
  • Leadership potential: students must demonstrate evidence of leadership, active citizenship and community and extracurricular involvement.

If you are eligible, you will get a taste of university life, the chance to meet and connect with other students, the opportunity to develop your leadership and community involvement skills and access to the University of Melbourne resources, academics and events.

 

Application and selection dates

Monday 14th October, 2019, 11.59pm – Application deadline for students.

Monday 21st October, 2019 - Nomination and supporting information deadline for schools.

Friday 22nd November, 2019 - Notification to schools and students of application outcome.

Tuesday 10th December, 2019 - Welcome event for new young scholars.
