Peter Robinson Talk
Our Years 7 and 8 students had the priviledge of listening to former Melbourne Storm player, Peter Robinson this week (pictured above).
He gave a great insight into building a successful culture and how to get the best out of yourself by having a strong work ethic, humility, empathy and a team first attitude.
It was a very relevant and informative session for all students (and staff!)
Years 5-8 News
Our Years 5/6 students have been working on an Italian task, studying Ancient Rome (Gli antichi Romani). An example of the work undertaken was to research a person during the Ancient Roman times and present this information. These people could have been a merchant, emperor, slave or horseman.
In PBL, our Year 7 students have been examining the town planning of Kyabram and reviewing the strengths and weaknesses of the shop locations. After gaining evidence, they are presented a proposal on what they think possible improvements could be. Other areas of study have included what the impacts of online shopping have been.
The Year 7 students have also been studying Ancient Rome in English. They have undertaken various tasks, such as reviewing important monuments on a map, studying foods during this time and looking at Pompeii. Some students have created a before and after model of Pompeii.
The Year 8 students have been studying gender, identity and relationships in R.E. They have heard from guest speakers, undertaken seminars and discussed as a class, gender equality, the various elements that make up their identity and how relationships are formed and maintained in the teenage years through to adulthood.
