Principal's News

Dear Families

It was lovely to meet the new families visiting our school this week and enrolling for next year's Preps. Open days are in full swing so please pass the dates for friends who may be interested. If the Open Day times don't suit, please call the school and organise a tour at a more suitable time.

Mothers Day/Special Persons Day  Breakfast Tomorrow

Thanks to the parents who helped out with the Mothers Day Stall, and for those who have been in this week covering readers. The children thoroughly enjoyed the stall and will enjoy the books- your support is greatly appreciated.

A reminder that there is a Mother's Day/Special Persons Day breakfast tomorrow morning. Thanks to the dads who are cooking in the morning. Gates open from 7.45am but you are welcome when suits you before school. Coffee Van will be available on the day.

First Aid in Schools

On Tuesday St John's Ambulance ran the First Aid in Schools programme. It was a great day with our students learning what to do in an emergency while having lots of fun (as you can see from the pictures!)

Playgroup

Thanks and again welcome to the 14 families who attended playgroup on Wednesday. It was lovely to meet existing and new families who came along and great to see the children so happily involved in the play. Playgroup is open to all families in and around Richmond with children under school age so please feel free to invite families who may be interested.

Parents and Friends

A big call out for volunteers to help the P & F in upcoming fundraising activities. We need lots of volunteers on election day to cook sausages and host our bake stall. We also need bakers who would be prepared to donate baked goods for the stall. This will be our major fundraising event of the year- please consider volunteering for an hour to support your school.

Bike and Road Safety

It is great to see so many students riding their bikes to school.

Over the next couple of weeks, changes will be made to our storage of bikes to accommodate the huge increase in numbers, with bikes beginning to be stored in the area adjacent to the POL office. Although this area is not currently undercover, our intention is to restore the covered atrium and provide bike racks along the sides of the area. This area will become our next focus of fundraising for our P & F and fundraising efforts this year.

Allergies

Just a reminder to inform the office if your child has an allergy. In line with Catholic Education Office policy it is critical that we know if your child suffers allergic reactions and to have an up to date plan in place.

Thanks everyone- have a great week and happy mothers day.
