Principal's Message

Welcome to Term 1, 2023

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we draw towards the end of Term 1, it has been terrific to see settled classrooms across the school. Our new preps have taken to learning like little ducks to water and we are proud of the progress they have made so far.

Goodbye Mr Paton

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Mr Paton who will be leaving us at the end of Term 1. Mr Paton has taken up a classroom position at Kalianna Specialist School. His work at Epsom PS over the past 4 and a half years has been greatly appreciated in both his classroom teacher and cultural coordinator roles. We wish him well with his future teaching endeavours. Replacing Mr Paton will be Mr Hansen who has been working at Strathfieldsaye PS.

New Education Support

Congratulations to Nemesis Kettle and Jessica Capozza, who were the successful applicants for the Education Support positions. I would like to thank Codie Shackes for her work over the term and we wish her well in her new position at Specimen Hill Primary School.

New Vision Development

After the successful completion of our school review, we are now in the process of developing a new vision for our school. A vision for learning and wellbeing helps to create a unified set of values and beliefs which help to drive a high performing and inclusive culture.

The following questions will need to be considered during the development of our vision:

  • Why are we here?
  • What do we stand for?
  • How do we achieve our goals?

With students at its centre, our new school vision should outline our aspiration for all students at our school to achieve and grow, and to realise the goals of lifelong learning and wellbeing.

Our students will continue to be empowered to:

  • Take ownership over their learning
  • Make purposeful contributions to the school that help to influence our decisions
  • Respond positively to challenges and opportunities

If you would like to contribute towards this process, further information will be sent home via COMPASS to gather your ideas.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Kind regards,

Julie Ladd

Principal

Please call the office or use Compass to explain your child's absence.  It is a Department of Education and Training requirement that all student absences are explained.  As a school we will be seeking an explanation for all unexplained absences with parents and carers.
