In Year 10 Indonesian, we are currently doing the food unit, where we learn about traditional Indonesian dishes and are given the opportunity to cook them as well.
We have currently cooked three dishes; Bakwan Sayur, Gado-Gado, and Rendang Ayam. All of these dishes were fun to make and tasted delicious afterwards. Once we had finished tasting our food, we were required to write a food review. The food review was to include all of the vocabulary and information that we had learnt in class, such as the ingredients, and where each food is traditional from Indonesia.
The unit so far has been very enjoyable and has enabled the students to expand their knowledge on Indonesian food and the history of it.
