Principal's Report

Before School Drop Off

It has been wonderful over the past year or so to be able to welcome parents on site in the mornings and for students to be able to flexibly arrive at school in the morning. Please be aware that the yard is not supervised until 8:45am and therefore students should not be arriving unattended or unsupervised before this time. Parents and students are welcome on site before this time to play and enjoy the yard, however the school does not assume responsibility for duty of care until 8:45am so please ensure your children are not arriving before then. 

NAPLAN Completed

Congratulations to our Grade 3 and 5 students who have completed NAPLAN over the past five days (with a few catch up tests pending). Their commitment to doing their best throughout the week and viewing the experience as a positive one is commendable and I’m very confident that they will be very proud of their efforts.

2024 Enrolments

Tours for prospective parents for 2024 have begun, with the first three being filled very quickly with 20 families in each. If you have friends or others that are wanting to book a tour, please encourage them to do so as soon as possible.

This year, the Department of Education (DE) has released a new statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline. The timeline provides clear opening and closing dates for enrolment (24th April – 28th July respectively) and how to enrol your child into Foundation. You can find information and resources about the new timeline, including factsheets, at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).

For any of you wanting to enrol your child in prep next year, a summary of the process is as follows and is also on our website. 

1.   Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) available from 24 April 2023.

2.   Submit an enrolment application for Foundation by Friday 28 July 2023

3.   You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Friday 11 August 2023. If you receive an offer of placement, you must accept the offer by Friday 25 August 2023. As a current family, and for everyone living within our zone, you can safely assume your child will be accepted.

Celebrations

Congratulations to the students who competed at Division Swimming this week. We again had wonderful success with every student that competed winning and progressing to the Regional Championships (level before State Championships) next month. Well done to Silla G, Skylar S who won their individual events and Silla, Lexi K, Cementine B and Lucy M on winning their freestyle relay. Outstanding effort and good luck at the Regionals.
