COVID Update

With things relatively settled compared to past years, there are still some measures in place at school that we continue to implement to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission. This includes having air purifiers in use, maximising external ventilation, encouraging good personal hygiene and face masks continue to be made available for staff, students and visitors who wish to wear them.

Management of suspected cases of COVID-19 in schools

A ‘suspected’ case means a person who displays any COVID-19 symptoms who has not yet tested positive for COVID-19.

Parents of students who are symptomatic will be asked to collect their child from school and to keep them home until they are no longer symptomatic.

Rapid antigen testing

It is recommended that rapid antigen tests (RATs) are used by students and staff:

  • If you have symptoms of COVID-19 infection, no matter how mild
  • If you are a household or close contact of someone who has COVID-19
  • If you are a social contact of someone who has COVID-19.

The Department of Health recommends that all Victorians should report their positive RAT result to the Department of Health online, or by calling 1800 675 398.

Rapid Antigen Tests are available for all Victorians from Council sites.  People can get 2 free packs (10 tests) for themselves and 2 free packs (10 tests) for each of their household members.

Thanks everyone for your support with this.

Grade 6 GRIP Leadership Conference Reminder

The GRIP Student Leadership Conference is a great way for students to learn more about leadership and themselves as leaders. The event will be held at Melbourne Exhibition Centre on Tuesday March 28th.

Students participate in an engaging day of presentations, interactive activities, leadership games, entertainment and discussions with presenters and students from other schools around the state.

All grade 6 students (at Buninyong and Scotsburn) are now invited to express an interest in attending. Please see your Compass portal for more information. A reminder that all grade 6 students interested in attending must complete the online expression of interest form before 12pm Thursday 16th March.
