Captains Corner

As we approach Week 9, what an amazing term it’s been so far. I hope you all have enjoyed it . We have had a lot of exciting events recently with some amazing achievements.

Congratulations to the students that participated in the summer round robin on Friday the 10th of March. Selected Year Six students represented our school in various sports. It was a wonderful fun filled day for the students, where they got to compete against other schools in the area.

On Wednesday 8th March we also celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD)! We were very grateful to have Deepa Damle (the mother of 2 x GWPS Alumni) come to talk to the staff during a special morning tea held in the gymnasium. IWD is used to recognise women’s achievements and promote equality. Deepa shared her amazing and inspiring life and career journey and how it reflected women’s efforts. The school Captains also gave a speech in recognition and appreciation of women which are featured in the Kids’ Corner section of our newsletter. I hope you enjoy them!

A reminder that next Wednesday the 22nd of March we have our school photos, please make sure you complete the registration ASAP.

To finish off Term 1, we have an exciting and wonderful event coming up, the School Twilight Sports on Wednesday 29th April. Twilight sports is a great whole school event where we all get together and compete for house points. More information will be distributed soon.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have an amazing week ahead.
