Parent’s Committee News,
Parent’s Committee 2023 AGM
Today was the Parent’s Committee Annual General Meeting for 2023. Thank-you to everyone who was able to attend and to Mr Borg and Megan Barkley for their support and assistance with financial reporting.
2022 AGM Report Highlights: In 2022, we were able to reinvigorate the Parent’s Committee after the interruptions of 2020-21 with a new executive team, new coordinators, more active members and supportive volunteers. The Parent’s Committee, in partnership with EFM and HIP, organized many highlights of the CJC year including Bastille Day, Diwali, Election Day BBQ, Mothers and Father’s Day stalls, End of Year Party and the Silent Auction to strengthen CJC’s community and raise funds for the school. We were also able to provide services to the CJC community, chiefly the 2nd Hand Uniform Shop and Friday Treats. With funds raised we contributed to the repair of fences, new library shelves, raised money for toilet and playground upgrades and funded the Grade 6 Year Book and parent cyber security sessions. Financially, it was a successful year with the PC making a profit of $25,252.15, after running events and contributing to school upgrades and projects to be reinvested in the school.
2023 Forward Plans: At the AGM we are pleased to have all of the 2022 PC Executive re-elected for 2023, as follows:
President: Amy Pate
Secretary: Rachael Hart
Treasurer: Anne-Sophie Aguado
Head Convenor: Martine Inge
In 2023, we plan to run all of the same much-loved events that we held in 2022, as well as the first ever CJC Garage Sale (details below), bring back the mother’s and father’s day breakfasts and hold a Parent Bingo night in Term 3. If you could not attend the AGM, you can review the PC 2023 AGM Presentation and our 2023 PC Activity Calendar online. Further information on the Parent’s Committee the Parent’s nominated fundraising projects for 2023 will be detailed in next week’s newsletter. Our aim for 2023 is to have a clear fundraising goal and show our progress towards funding that project on a frequent basis.
CJC Garage Sale Day
The PC will hold CJC’s First Every Garage Sale Day on Sunday 26 March. We will have car boots, sale stalls, a BBQ (kosher available) and a cake stall. See our separate flyer for more information. Children must be supervised by a parent. Your class convenor will be in touch with more details for your class. Siblings, including those in other year levels are welcome to attend.
