Welcome to the 2023 Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge
The Challenge is open to all Victorian children from birth to Year 10 in recognition of the importance of reading for literacy development.
School of the Good Shepherd’s goal is for all students to complete the challenge and for more books to be enjoyed and read than any year before. It is not a competition but a personal challenge for children to read a set number of books and record their efforts online before 4th September 2023.
Children from Prep to Year 2 are encouraged to read or ‘experience’ at least 30 books with their parents and teachers. Children from Year 3 to Year 6 are challenged to read 15 books or more.
At school we will register and track all readers. We ask that you support this at home. Sustained reading is a goal for all of our learners at SoGS so this Premiers’ Reading Challenge will support this.
All children who meet the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier.

Usernames and passwords will be given to your child by their teacher.
