From the Deputy Principal

Jason Fay

On Monday, St Paul hosted a visit by 26 Lutheran school educators from around Australia, on a Contemporary Learning Tour. The purpose of this visit was for these staff in Lutheran schools to engage with the wider Lutheran community through immersion.

These tours aim to provide the opportunity to build and strengthen connection and strategic partnerships with schools who are engaged in implementing contemporary education practice.

Our guests engaged in a learning walk and reflection process, a school tour and three quick pop-up workshops on different aspects of the learning culture at St Paul. The feedback was incredibly positive with a particular focus on the shared vision and values, the consistency and efficacy of our learning spaces, the presence of children’s voices in the documentation of learning.

There were also many questions and requests for more information around our wellbeing approaches and curriculum and the professional learning community model led by teachers.

It was not only great for some of our staff to lead aspects of this visit and share their passion and work, but for them to also see how teachers who are open to reflecting on their own practice react to the way we do things at St Paul.
