Mini-Vinnies Christmas Hampers

Dear Parents,

We would like to acknowledge Toinette at ‘Bath and Beauty Products’ for her generous donations for the Mini- Vinnies Christmas Hampers that each class is donating Christmas goods for. We received over $300 worth of products from her factory clearance centre @ 5 Teton Crt Highett (off Wickham Rd).

If you would like shower gels, body butters, scrubs, lotions, brushes, hand soaps, baby and many other Personal Care products for your Christmas stockings, the warehouse Christmas opening hours are between 9:00 am – 5:00 PM, Wednesday to Saturday from 1st December until 20th December.

Have a brilliant weekend,

Faye

First Aid in Schools

This week, 'First Aid in Schools' ran 45 minute sessions with each class about safety and first aid. This was planned to coincide with our current focus on Safety. Classes were taught age-appropriate strategies to address a range of physical injuries and how to respond safely to emergencies.

Topics included: Cuts and Grazes,  Bites and Stings, Burns and CPR.

Harriet Yr 1 - The First Aid was good to learn that we all need a First Aid kit at home because if someone gets hurt we can look after them by bandaging them after calling 000.

Seb Yr 3  - I learnt that if you're at home and someone looks unconscious, you can use pressure points to see if they are awake or really unconscious. If they are unconscious you can call 000 and they will tell us what to do or maybe come straight away.

Niamh Yr 5 -  In First Aid we used Dummies to practise CPR. It was difficult because it takes a lot of energy, using your whole body to pump the heart and help a person breathe.
