Science

On Tuesday 26th June, most of the year 7 students made their way by train, to the Melbourne Zoo. For some students, it was their first real experience on a train. Students took part in a workshop called “Call of the wild” and visited a number of the different animal enclosures. The weather was fine and it was a great way to finish term 2 off.

VCAL

On Thursday 28th June, the year 11 and 12 VCAL classes trekked up to the 1000 steps in Belgrave. Students were testing their fitness, after the completion of the health unit in term 2. It was a very cold day but once students started moving, they soon warmed up. It was a great afternoon. Students were treated to a Pizza lunch at the bottom of the stairs afterwards. It was a great way to finish off the term.

8ACE

On Thursday 19th July, some of the Year 8 ACE students and year 10 science students, travelled up to Quantum, in Macleod, to take part in a Coding workshop. Students were learning about a new technology to them, called Arduino. Students were given an opportunity to write some of their own coding and also took part in some problem solving of when the coding goes wrong.

The students were so focused and committed to the task at hand. We were so proud of their efforts.
