MINDFULNESS LESSONS FROM 5C

It is extremely helpful to do mindfulness - especially if you are ever feeling really sad, angry or any other negative feeling. You can also do it to just calm yourself down, maybe after a really intense exercise, or before bed time, to help you sleep better.

Mindfulness is when you do something to regulate yourself and your emotions. For example, you could do some colouring while listening to music, doing yoga or meditation or doing breathing techniques. It is just something that makes YOU relaxed; it might not be relaxing for others but is for you, that is still okay.

OUR MINDFULNESS TIPS:

Mindfulness is amazing for your body! But, you might not know if you like relaxing music, guided mindfulness, yoga, reading, or other things. There are so many different ways to engage in mindfulness, so I am sure we can find one that you find helpful...

So, I’m going to share some of my best tips with you!

~ Sleep You might be thinking ‘how is sleep mindfulness?’ Well, sleep is really important for your body. It has many benefits, such as, better focus and learning (it is shown that your brain works a lot more efficiently with sleep because you’re awake and ready to learn) feeling good in general, (sleep is very good for both your physical and mental health because your body relaxes all of the tension in your muscles, whilst you're so still, so you can relax) and lastly, sleep can help a lot with sadness, stress or worries (when you’re asleep, you drift off into your own world, letting any worries you have, fly away, and when you wake up, your brain will be completely refreshed).

~ Music Music can be very relaxing when you’re feeling stressed or anxious. Here is some calming music that I love listening to, whether I’m feeling stressed or anxious, or not! You could even listen to it whilst you do your Home Learning work...

~ Talking to someone I think that this one might be one of the most helpful. One way you can start to do this is to write down, somewhere, a couple of people that you feel safe, comfortable, and loved with (also people that you can trust). Now, when you’re ready to talk to them about your emotions, just let it all out. Let them know everything, that way, they know how they can help you! It always feels good to get your stress and worries out.

I really hope that these tips can help you, just like they’ve helped me!
