Principal's Message

Prayer for Our Lady of Lourdes

Lord, look upon me with eyes of mercy,

may your healing hand rest upon me,

may your life-giving powers flow into every cell of my body

and into the depths of my soul,

cleansing, purifying, restoring me to wholeness

and strength for service in your Kingdom.

Amen

Induction Mass

On Wednesday, our Year 6 students were presented with their Student Leader badges and received a special blessing from Father Ken as they begin their final year at OLA. We were extremely proud of the way they participated in the ceremony and made their commitment to the OLA community. With the leadership of; Head Girl: Tiana, Head Boy: Leone, Deputy Head Girl: Alexis, and Deputy Head Boy: Alexander B, we know that the Year 6 Students will be exceptional leaders of OLA. The OLA School Board and P&F Executive also made their commitment to the community. We are extremely fortunate to have such amazing people working for the good of OLA.

MSP School Photos

School photos for Kindy - Year 6 are scheduled for Monday 25 March and Tuesday 26 March. Pre-Kindy will have their photos later in the year when more children have commenced the program. The Year 6 Graduation photo is also scheduled for later in the year. The scheduled times for photos will be published in the newsletter closer to the time.

Farewell

This week we farewell Rosie Samuels from the Canteen. Rosie has been a part of the OLA community for twenty two years and has worked tirelessly to improve the Canteen over the last four years. We sincerely thank Rosie for her outstanding contribution and we wish her all the best as she begins her new job at Kelmscott Senior High School.

Merit Awards and Values at OLA

Today sees the launch of the new OLA Merit Awards linked to the School Values. It is our aim to embed Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence (RICE) in all that we do here at OLA. Information on other initiatives to incorporate our School Values will be announced to the community in the coming weeks.

Family Fun Night

A reminder that Friday 22 February is the P&F Family Fun Night. Please refer to the P&F page of this newsletter for further information. It is, as always, bound to be a fantastic night!

Seesaw

This year, at OLA, we are using Seesaw as a platform to communicate with parents about their child's learning. Seesaw is an online portfolio which allows teachers and students to upload samples of student work. Families will then have the ability to view and comment on these items. Please contact your child's classroom teacher if you have had difficulty connecting to your child's Seesaw account.

Congratulations

A HUGE congratulations to Janelle Shine as she is expecting the arrival of her first child. A HUGE congratulations also to Jodie McCarthy on the upcoming arrival of her second child. Both Janelle and Jodie will be with us at OLA until Term 2. We wish them all the best as they begin this exciting chapter.
