R U OK ?

R U OK day is our national day of action, when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, "Are you OK?".  If someone in your world is struggling with life's ups and downs, this small action can make a difference in someone's life and has even more meaning this year.  Let's all be kind to each other.

This is a link to a really good video to share with your children and gets the conversation started about the steps they can take when concerned about a friend

Spoonville at CJC

The CJC Spoonville is growing.  Be sure to make one to our collection!

What is Spoonville? Creating a Spoonville together is a fun way to improve children’s mental health during lockdown. Like the neighbourhood bear hunt and rainbow movements, it aims to put smiles on the faces of children during this difficult period. Building a Spoonville at CJC also helps to connect children with the school while they are learning from home.  If your home is more than 5km away, send us a photo of your masterpiece, or send it by mail to the school!

We are hoping to see some more very creative spoons in our CJC Spoonville. You could make a spoon that looks like yourself or a princess spoon, spoonycorns (unicorn spoons), animal spoons and superhero spoons.  Any old wooden spoon from your kitchen will do. The idea is that you get creative and have some FUN!!!
