SUPPORTING ROLE MODELS

What an amazing few weeks it has been in sport. At this time of year, it is great to see so many staff and students embracing the culture of excellence and supporting their teams through finals.

Sporting events bring families and communities together, and are a showcase of sporting role models performing at their best. In the last two weeks we have seen the Melbourne Vixens win the Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final, followed by the All Victorian AFL Grand Final which saw Richmond bring home the cup for the third time in four years. The Melbourne Storm also took on the Penrith Panthers in the NRL Grand Final, enjoying a huge win to secure the title. What amazing athletes our students can be inspired by. Our congratulations go out to all of our Vixens, Tigers & Storm supporters and the Hardwick family.

On the return to school the PE department are planning a showcase of sporting opportunities with PE lessons focused on all the activities that students have missed experiencing whilst in remote learning. Already our Year 7s have enjoyed participating in Gymnastics themed lessons where they have had the opportunity to put into practice all of the things they learnt whilst at home, and extend their practical abilities.

We very much look forward to students embracing their PE lessons and having fun participating and competing in a wide variety of sports and activities from all over the world, giving them a true global sporting experience.
