What a year it was!

No doubt you are feeling as relieved as we are that this year has finally drawn to a close! What a year it has been! Words will never do justice to the pride that we have in our College, and the way that we all went about our learning and work this year. Despite the challenges that we have all faced this year, we have done it together with unwavering solidarity. We were optimistic that we would get through this challenge together; our staff, students, parents and carers already had a great bond and relationship, but this year took our sense of community to all new heights! Make no mistake; the tests of the last two years broke many other schools, and yet we stood up together, and we flourished. On behalf of all the staff, can I extend a heartfelt thanks to all students, parents and carers for your support; you deserve to go into the summer with a sense of satisfaction that you all did your parts to support our school community through these tough times. And to our staff, I extend immeasurable gratitude. Your professionalism, dedication to our students and community, and your unwavering support for one another is truly inspirational and I am extremely proud of you. You deserve a well-earned rest this summer!

Despite the challenges we faced yet again this year, we didn’t allow COVID-19 to totally distract us, and the school seized the opportunities to make many significant improvements that have put us in good stead for 2022 and beyond. Our digital learning has again been taken to the next level and I want to take this opportunity to encourage families to consider the BYOD program for your children. We’ve completed more upgrades to our facilities and grounds; we’ve continued to strengthen our curriculum and assessment practices; and completed the staff, student and parent surveys and we achieved some fantastic results. Overall, it has been a very productive year, and we are really looking forward to 2022! Next year will see us with another year of exceptional enrolments; we will be surpassing 1080 for the first time since 2006. We are certainly developing a positive reputation in the wider community as a school of choice. This growth provides us the opportunity to offer more programs and services to our students which is what we strive for.

Wishing all our McClelland families a fantastic summer, filled with connections, love, laughter and relaxation. If you celebrate Christmas, then we wish you a very merry one, and we wish all families a more settled 2022!
