Mercy Prayer

We pray for the Sisters of Mercy, who established our school and for the priests who have served at St. Mary’s.

It is through their vision,  determination and strong faith that we enjoy the benefits of a Catholic Education here in Mooroopna.

We are proud to be a Mercy School, where the values of love and justice are taught and lived every day.

St. Mary’s Giving Tree!

The Grade Six Social Justice Team have organised once again for the Giving Tree Appeal to be an important part of our Christmas preparations here at school.

Families are invited to send along a gift for a primary school aged student which will be forwarded to the St. Vincent de Paul Society to be distributed to those in need in our local community.

St. Vinnie’s would prefer that the gifts are not wrapped as this makes allocating them to families much easier!

Please send along any NEW toys or gifts with your child, marking them with a small note: “Giving Tree” and they will be collected from the classrooms and displayed in the Office Area before being collected by St. Vinnie’s.

Thank you so much for your GIVING at this time!

Christmas, 2021.

The following lyrics are taken from Andrew Chinn’s song, “Under Your Star.”

Let us remember the true meaning of Christmas and celebrate the birth of Jesus with hope, peace, joy and love.

Under Your Star

by Andrew Chinn

Late in the night, baby Jesus lays asleep.

Mother Mary beside him, looks with a love so deep.

Joseph watches over, his love he cannot hide.

And He sleeps under your stars and they sparkle in the sky.

In the fields nearby, the shepherds tend their sheep.

God’s angel appears and the shepherds are filled with fear.

“Glory to God in the highest, and peace to all people on earth.”

And He sleeps under God’s star, rejoice in his birth.

And in the east the wise men see this star.

They journey across the desert, they come from afar.

In Bethlehem they find him, in the stable where he lays.

And He sleeps under God’s star and the star will show the way.
