News and new acquisitions

Mr Anthony Kelly and Mrs Caroline Chapman

Another generous donation has come in from a sister of a St Mary's Boys, and De La Salle alumni. Over the past 20 years or so, the College Archives has gradually increased its collection to what it is today. There are however still some gaps to the St Ursula's and De La Salle we hold.

We were thrilled to receive the program from the St Ursula's Centenary. Being one of the two Colleges which amalgamated to form O'Connor, St Ursula's remains very important to our College and we continue to maintain connections with the Order.

The other College, De La Salle Armidale is featured in the second item. A lovely program from their musical comedy "The Spies" which was performed in August 1963. Our donors brothers were at De La Salle at the time. Musicals are a great way of working together as a school and we look forward to seeing the progress of our current production 'School of Rock' to be performed in 2022.

The third item pictured on the left of the photo below is a St Mary's Boys' School pocket which displayed the school emblem. Our donor's brothers attended St Mary's Boys' which was located on the Dangar St side of the current school, primarily in the building which now houses the school Library. After completing Year 2, the boys in that era went from St Mary's (Primary) School to St Mary's Boys' with the girls remaining at St Mary's on the Jessie St side of the block.

Thank you for your generous donation. Every donation enhances our collection and provides a great context for our College which students can appreciate today.
