MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS

A huge thank you to all the helpers this year both adults and Library Leaders.

It's been tricky at times but we all hung in there and tried to turn up when we could.

Make sure you get some time to enjoy some holiday reading.

FAREWELL

A fond farewell to those families who are leaving St Nicholas School, I thank you for your support and encouragement of your child's reading education over the years.

GIFT INSPIRATION

BOOK FAIR!  BOOK FAIR!  BOOK FAIR!  BOOK FAIR!

Almost all reorders are back now and I thank the students for their patience.

PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE

This week 73 Gold certificates were issued to students from Yrs 3 - 6 who have completed the PRC for the fourth time. 26 Platinum certificates were issued to Yr 6 students who had completed the PRC 7 years in a row - ie Kinder to Year 6.

A special congratulations to all of these well-deserving students.

All students who completed the PRC received a cool treat to enjoy after lunch.

Absent from photos: Baxter Hoy and Chloe Farrell, Molly Klasen, Sienna Sears and Andy Considine.

SUMMER HOLIDAY READING

The library is now closed.  - Books may be returned to a tub in your child's learning area, but borrowing is now closed.

Everyone who returns their summer holiday borrowing will go into a draw for some great prizes from the library. So get reading everyone.

Send through pics of some favourite places where you may be reading. Maybe visit the library in the town/city where you visit and when you come back we can have a chat/display of all the libraries.

Below is a link to some excellent research on the "summer reading slide" and what we can do to alleviate this.

child visits the library. All students, K - 6 must have a library bag. This is listed as a requirement on the student Equipment List each year.

LIBRARY BAGS - Keep these at home now and give them a wash or check if your child needs a replacement.  ALL students require a bag.

LIBRARY BAGS MATTER...  Not just some of the time but all of the time.

No food or drink on my books.

Food and drink are for the chooks.

Library bags keep ‘em clean.

Books are cool don’t treat ‘em mean.

Bring your bag every time.

Fill it up and get in line.

Have it scanned and scoot on out.
