OUR FAITH

PRAYER

Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

We pray ...

We pray for... our Year 6 students who are in their final weeks of primary schooling, for the Loveday family (Kalen 4B), on the sad passing of their grandmother, for the families who will be leaving our St Nicholas School community, for our St Nicholas Community as we journey through the season of Advent.

THE SEASON OF ADVENT –

This weekend we light the third candle on the Advent wreath. With the beginning of the season of Advent, we begin a new liturgical year.

CHRISTMAS JOY - MUFTI DAY

Tomorrow, Friday 10th December we will be having a 'Christmas Joy' Mufti Day to support the St Vincent de Paul Christmas appeal. Students are asked to bring in a gold coin donation. Students will be allowed to wear Christmas coloured clothing, Christmas shirt, tinsel in hair etc. (no coloured hair spray). Hat and enclosed shoes are essential.

Altar Servers- Thank You

A huge thank you to all our altar servers and to their parents for supporting our school and parish masses for this past year. It is a massive commitment and a great act of service to our school and parish community.

The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary- Wednesday 8th December

Our faith tells us that God gave to Mary, the Mother of his Son, “an entirely unique holiness,” which we call “the Immaculate Conception”. The familiar story of the Annunciation, which we hear in the reading from Luke, expresses the spiritual reality in a simple yet profound way. The angel Gabriel greets Mary with the familiar words, “Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.” Mary is favoured because God is with her.
