One of the true joys of my role is my interactions with the students of the Middle School. Their questions and approach to learning is quite different to the students of the Senior School.  They are developing new skills, learning new information and, more importantly, learning about themselves.  Their natural curiosity is wonderful to experience.  We have planned a number of activities in their final week before the term break which I am sure they will enjoy.

Years 8 and 9

With only a few weeks remaining, our students are working to achieve their best and have fun while doing so. Sporting activities have started again, the outer yard is bustling at lunchtime and the classrooms are full of chatter, as the energy associated with on-campus learning is still very high. However, many have returned a little overwhelmed. To assist them, additional consolidated learning time has been provided during Pastoral sessions, which has allowed students the time they need to reach out for support and complete any outstanding work.

The return to the classroom has been refreshing for teachers and students and the opportunities to collaborate and work together once again have not been lost on students. Many have expressed their excitement to take on the learning experiences afforded by their practical subjects once again, in particular Science and the Arts. I must say, the smell of freshly baked muffins emanating from the Food Technology room has definitely been tempting and the crepes left in my office were quite delicious!

With only two weeks left, students are reminded to make the most each day. Their teachers and I are glad to have them all back and will be there to support and encourage them all the way through to the end of the year.

Year 7 Welcome Morning

Last Wednesday, despite the persistent rain, the students of Year 7 2022, current and new, came together for the activities of Welcome Morning. As a group, they worked on learner profiles, challenged themselves to reach the top of the rock-climbing wall, tested their musical rhythm and coordination and used teamwork in a game of dodgeball. Thanks to our resident brilliant baker, they did not go hungry at recess, enjoying a beautifully crafted cake pop and juice. We look forward to working with them again on ‘Up Day’, Wednesday, December 1, the second of our Year 7 Transition days.

Years 6 and 7

With two weeks left of the academic year, our students are finding every opportunity to make the most of the time they have. It has been a pleasure to have deliveries of muffins, crepes and delicious Minestrone soup by our students from Food Technology. They are certainly cooking up a storm.

I would whole-heartedly like to thank and congratulate all the Year 7 students, in particular Nefeli P, for her drive and support in getting my head shaved for the My Room Cancer charity. The support from the school community has been overwhelming.

Our Year 5 students enjoyed a fun few classes in the Middle School on Thursday. They were abuzz with excitement and we look forward to having them again on our Up Day!

Last week, our Year 6 students had a fantastic first orientation day into Year 7. The atmosphere was warm and the connections made with new students was fantastic.
