McCarthy's Got Talent

During the End of October, the Year 12 members of the Environmental Council arranged the McCarthy Got Talent. The aim of this was to raise awareness of the Environmental Council as well as raise money to support Vinnies. Students were allowed to wear Mufti and were asked to make a coin donation. The money raised was sent to Catholic Missions and a donation was given to Clean Up Australia organisation.

McCarthy's Got Talent was a great success. Forum 6 Cinemas, who were generous in helping to provide the prizes for the contestants, sponsored this event. I would like to thank Mr Grant Lee and Forum 6 Cinemas for their support.

McCarthy's Got Talent saw eight entertainment acts performed by members of our school community. A big thank you goes to all those who were brave enough to take part.

The acts were:

  • Grace Vuong who performed Reckless
  • Ellaura Goodman-Mackay who performed Hallelujah
  • Gemma Coates and Haley Buckman who performed Many Things (original song)
  • Marianne Flood who performed You Say Run
  • Jack Munro who performed Dear Winter
  • Sophie Mackney who performed Coffee
  • Roma Bernardo who performed Use Somebody
  • Mr Kelly and EquaJono who performed Equations (rising stars, you can see their song on YouTube)

All acts were of high quality. This year, the College community voted for the best act. The winner of the McCarthy Got talent was Jack Munro, with Roma Bernardo and Marianne Flood being Runners Up.

Special thanks goes to the two judges, Mr Wade Leu and Mr Damian Kenniff. A big thanks to Mr Christopher Thompson and Mr Mitch Ebert for the technical support and to Sara Sinclair for emceeing. Special mention to Indianna Diss, Zachary Refalo, Georgina Yip, Maeve Galvin and Josh Viertel who all put in a lot of effort to ensure that this event during this period of uncertainty.

Well done on a great effort.
