Inquiry Centre

Curriculum

Well the 1/2 Bonanza day was a big hit with not only the students but teachers also had a wonderful time!

We started the day with toast and fruit ! It was so nice for all the Grade 2’s to have the playground to them self and enjoy the morning! Playing with the famous parachute was a massive highlight, the game ‘Shark’ was so much fun.  The Icy poles were the perfect way to cool down before heading out for lunch. Lastly we finished up the day with some craft decorating our class photo a great way to remember a fabulous day. I am sure the students were tired Wednesday night.

In Maths, we delved into some problem solving. We looked at what the question was asking? How can we plan to solve it, and how to check our working out. We looked at problems about transformation, money, addition and subtraction and ordinal numbers.

In Literacy, we celebrated NAIDOC week, by exploring indigenous stories, telling stories through symbols, creating our own acknowledgement of country posters and discussing the moral of stories shared. Tidalick the frog was a crowd favourite with the students! In Writing, we are preparing for our Guided Inquiry presentation and practiced reading a script with expression and also  completed a fantastic recount of the 1/2 Bonanza Day.

This week our stude`nts will be learning about water safety through our 'Dry Swimming Program'. On Wednesday we will be having a dress up day where students can wear board shorts and rash vests or 'summer' clothes (not bathing suits).

Have a great week!
