Parents & Friends
📧 We are starting to plan events and fundraising for next year, although it’s a little difficult to know how things will look post-COVID. If you would like to get in contact with ideas, the Parents & Friends email address is mprps.pf@gmail.comor you can find me through the Parent Facebook Group.

☕️ A big thank you to everyone who has ‘paid a coffee forward’ to the MPRPS&K staff at Cafe Blanc. If you would like to add a coffee to the tab, simply ask the lovely staff at Cafe Blanc to add a coffee to the MPRPS&K teachers tab and they will happily do it for you.
👍🏻 If you haven’t already, please join the Parents Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mprpsparentsandfriends/
This group was started by Trish Brimelow 5 years ago, and is a great place to stay up to date with school events and connect with fellow parents.
🧑🏽🎓 The Class of 2020 are beginning to plan their Graduation ceremony, and traditionally the Grade 5 parents provide dessert and decorations. This year will be a little different, but we’re still asking Grade 5 parents to contribute to the Desserts Table. While Graduation won’t be till later in December, please keep it in the back of your mind as it’ll be here before you know it!
🥄 If you’re struggling with lunchbox ideas, here’s a quick and easy nut free, egg free, muesli bar slice that we tried on the weekend and got thumbs up from my two children:
Ingredients:
2 cups rolled oats
1.5 cups puffed rice / Rice Bubbles
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup currants or sultanas
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
150gm butter
2/3 cup honey
1/3 cup coconut sugar (I used raw sugar)
Method:
- Line a lamington pan or similar size with baking paper, and preheat oven to 180deg C or 160deg fan forced
- Mix oats, rice bubbles, cranberries, currants, coconut, sesame and sunflower seeds in a large bowl
- Heat the butter, honey and sugar in a small saucepan over low heat and stir until butter is melted, sugar is combined, mixture starts to simmer and becomes syrupy
- Stir liquid into dry ingredients and mix well
- Pour into baking tray and press down firmly
- Bake for 20min till golden on top.
- Once cool, cut into 8 pieces, or smaller depending on your children.
